Kitanomaru@Garden

@Kitanomaru Garden is an important woodland garden situated in the center of Tokyo. This garden which continued on into the northern part of the Imperial Palace is planted with many broadleaved evergreen trees.
@Japanese chinquapin (Castanopsis cuspidata), MachilusiMachilus Thunbergii) and Camphor tree (Chinnamomum camphora), are such examples that can be seen in this garden. In the center of this garden there is a large pond and well kept lawns, which are surrounded by many beautiful deciduous trees such as Japanese Maple (Acer palmatum), Keyaki (Zelkova serrata), and Oak (Quercus serrata). This garden is a wild bird sanctuary and many berrying trees and shrubs have been planted to encourage wild birds to nest. The deciduous trees are always very attractive in autumn.
