Chidori-ga-fuchi Moat

@The gChidori-ga-fuchi moath and gHanzo-bori moath are very popular during the cherry blossoms season in April. You can get the overview sight of cherry blossoms in full bloom from the causeway on the stone wall along the moat, where many people enjoy boating. It is a kind of a great spectacle.
@This shape of moat is said to resemble the Chidori (Plover bird). This moat used to connect to the Hanzo-bori moat, but in 1901, it was divided when a new road was constructed across the moat. In winter you can see many migratory birds such as Kamchatkan Black-Headed Gulls, Tufted Ducks, etc. at the moat.
